“To succeed, we must first believe that we can”. This is the motto initiated in the hearts and minds of our dear active and witty education students as the main ingredient of their success during their Education Days.
Last January 26-29 2010, the Education Department celebrated their Education days with remarkable activities, guided with the theme: “Accepting the Challenge of Modern Teaching”. Students participated the different activities with full dedication, determination and cooperation to attain their goal as one department.
January 26, 2010, was the opening of Education Days where the Academic Dean of Education Department Professor Rustico Rom Jr. opened his arms to welcome the SPC Community on the special day of the Education Department and he let the students witness his good leadership.
The challenge for the education students doesn’t end yet, for on its second day was the Quiz Bee Competition. The participants of the said contest where told to have a year level group competition so they were expecting to have their same level to be their companion for the competition. But when they came up on stage the agreement was unexpectedly changed and the participants were being mixed with each other. That strategy was made in order to have fair challenge and to develop a good relationship among the other levels.
“Originality and Creativity of our Works make our Department Unique”. This marks how the Education Department implies its variances from the rest. There was also an exhibit to showcase various works and projects of the education students.
On the fourth day, the third year and fourth year were assembled at the Audio Visual Center (AVC) for a short symposium on UbD or Understanding by Design. This was formally addressed to our future educators to give them insights on the actual scenario of teaching career. The knowledge and details were delivered by no other than our school president, Sr. Mary Frances Dizon, OSB. She delivered the topic comprehensively in just a short period of time.
On the last day everyone headed off to the beach not just to celebrate the success of the event but to award the students who totally put forth their time and effort . It was also the time to thank and say farewell to the fourth year graduating students by giving simple yet memorable gifts for them.
“Together everyone accomplishes more”. With this motto, everybody shared the success of this year’s Education Days. And it has been a challenging event for the students who made everything possible. Through the effort of everybody it will be an unforgettable success of their college life which can inspire the education students to continue to stand out for the success and work as a department.
