The Key” Conducts Orientation and Workshop Seminar




To enhance the journalistic skills of the new staff of the official publication of St. Peter’s College, college unit, the “The Key” publication conducted an Orientation and Workshop Seminar at SPC Grade School Audio Visual Center last July 24.

The activity started with a short prayer, followed by the presentation of new staffs and their respective positions. Afterwards, Lawrence Mandras discussed the publication mission, vision and the code of ethics as a campus journalist. Claire Villanueva, the Assistant Managing Editor, summarized the duties and responsibilities of the staff. Daryl Mary Yunson the Editor-in-Chief gave tips on how to make a good feature article. Rhodora Avon Conag our speaker in the morning was able to tackle the tips on how to create a good and effective editorial writing. After lunch break, “The Key” moderator Cherry Bertulfo stressed the need to exercise the right to express with confidence and conscience during her elaboration on publication’s role and news writing. Myron Delgado discussed on the essentials of Sports Writing. Engr. Edward Bertulfo gave a lecture on the basics of video and photography not only to the photographers of the staff but to the new and old staff of the publication.

After every discussion, the staffs were asked to make an output of what they have learned from the seminar.
